I was the chief designer for the robot character, Hinokio, and based on my CGI model, a full-size version was also constructed. Within the film, Hinokio is interchanged between the CGI and this model, depending on the situation. The finishing touches to the CGI, made by Japan’s first-rate staff, were so spectacular, that it was impossible to tell the difference between CGI and reality. I wrote about the characteristics of CINEMA4D in a feature article, "3DCG as a channel of expression". The magazine is German CG-specialized magazine "digital production" the March issue. My work was used for the flyer of CINEMA4D upgrading information. [Feb/2003] ELSA Japan [http://www.elsa-jp.co.jp/] Kobe Design University CG EXHIBITION "Get Primitive" Exhibition was held by 17 students in the seminar of Assistant Professor Hiroyasu Shimo (KDU). As one of 5 professional artists, I sent my work to the exhibition where 5 professional CG Artists working in Japan compete with the students.
